I am Sarah Jane Coffey, an end-of-life, grief, and death doula and LPCC in Colorado, providing non-medical end-of-life care and support in Boulder County, Colorado, through <a href=\"https:\/\/longmontcarecircle.com\/our-services\">Longmont Care Circle<\/a>. The dying or their circle engages them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>How is a death doula different from hospice?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with less than six months to live, it is my first suggestion that you select and engage a hospice team that resonates with you and your circle. Hospice offers holistic medical, spiritual, social, and practical support. Hospice is <strong>amazing<\/strong>.  In Boulder County, I recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/trailwindshospice.com\/\">Trailwinds<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trucare.org\/\">TRU<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hospice care has limits. This is where engaging a death doula can be helpful. A doula can be a consistent, on-call presence through the preparation, active dying, and bereavement process. As a doula, if you have a non-medical request, project, or need, I will work to fill it either myself or by finding the right person who can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/longmontcarecircle.com\/our-services\">Longmont Care Circle<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of 2025, I have joined forces with fellow death doula and therapist Abby Howard and now offer doula services through our collaborative effort, <a href=\"https:\/\/longmontcarecircle.com\/our-services\">Longmont Care Circle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome.
